Lambdoid Synostosis vs. Torticollis
Left picture: In this case the diagnosis is a functional closure of both lambdoid sutures, which is more pronounced on the left side. Right picture: The diagnosis is a left posterior positional plagiocephaly due to a torticollis. Depending on the history and the local findings it may be a congenital muscular or a postural torticollis.
Both infants have a flattening of the left back head. Left picture: In this pathology the head is circular. Right picture: The head of this patient is longitudinal-oval in the view from the top. Left picture: Looking from the side in the picture at the bottom, the back head is completely flat and tower-shaped posteriorly. Right picture: The picture at the bottom shows that the face has an inclination to the right side and a torsion to the left side.
